The world’s best sandwiches come from Florence?

Florence is at the forefront of the most visited Italian cities every year. In fact, the capital of Tuscany is a real paradise for the art and also shopping lovers who scour the streets in search of the leather goods of the best quality and unique handmade jewelry. It is worth mentioning that Florence is also very comfortable city to walking because all the alleys are well connected with the old town which is big enough to accommodate a large number of tourists. Ok, let’s face it, I didn’t discover this restaurant all alone :P. 2 years ago my friend told me that during her stay in Florence she fell in love with delicious sandwiches which create a real furor among tourists. I was in Tuscany at that time and I decided to find out firsthand what is their secret J. 

Schiacciata, as it is called, is a flagship product of this small family restaurant which serves also the traditional vines and cold meats from this region of Italy. Schiacciata in Tuscan dialect means focaccia, which is more popular name of flat bread. So, the sandwich from All’Antico Vinaio consists of two big pieces of flat bread and a lot of the best Italian ingredients inside, like mozzarella, raw ham, truffle cream, fresh tomatoes, rocket, soft cheese and so on. Whole is usually topped with the highest quality olive oil which literally leaks from the sandwich :D. The guys who work there, not only have a tremendous pace in the preparation, but also they ladle out the ingredients which they put inside of the flat bread. Thanks to that, schiacciata from All’Antico Vinaio isn’t some kind of scam, but a quintessential of the Italian cuisine. It is worth adding that the price of every sandwich is between 5 to 8 euro, depending on which variant you will choose J.
